Each week with some of my younger clients we have a word wall. This is appropriate for younger and older clients, the vocabulary would change accordingly. The children pick the letters that they would like for their word wall. I have lots of vinyl lettering that I purchased from the Dollar Tree for scrap booking. After they pick a letter I draw the picture and we fill in the missing letters for the corresponding word. It is so much fun, my drawings are not the best, but we incorporate some good vocabulary. They can draw illustrations as well if they are older. The words are kept in each child's folder and we target vocabulary from previous weeks and add more. This is a great activity to recommend to parents and/or caregivers to increase carryover of vocabulary.
In Therapy we did a planting activity, all of my clients really enjoyed this activity. Some of the skills that were targeted during this activity included the following:

- Synonyms
- Antonyms
- Increasing Vocabulary
- Pragmatic Skills
- Inferencing
- Following Directions
I like to incorporate various themes when planning activities for my sessions. We discussed the plant cycle, the parts of a plant, the tools that are needed to plant, vocabulary words that were related to planting, and a lot of other skills were targeted.
