It was so much fun, I did this activity with the younger children on my caseload. 1. First, I showed them a sample shopping list and we talked about making a list before going shopping. We went through our book, "Buying Groceries" Written by Ana Paula G. Mumy and Illustrations by Korey Scott, and we wrote our shopping list of all of the items that we would buy. 2. Each child had their own shopping bag and as we took turns reading the different pages of the story, they got to collect the items that corresponded to that page of the book.  The book that we used is from a series of other books from the GROW! ¡CREZCA! Story & Language Books: Spanish-English Edition. These books are great for the students on my caseload because a lot of them are bilingual. The books show both Spanish and English with four separate progressive levels, based on the student's reading level. Each student's target goals were incorporated into the session.  All of the students enjoyed going grocery shopping..

So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."~Steve Jobs~ This quote is so true, we really do have to trust in ourselves, to know that whatever decision that we make whether career choices, personal, or any any area of our life, will be beneficial for our future. We are going to make mistakes ("learning experiences") along the way, there are going to be challenges ("Surpassing the Pebbles") along the way, and it is normal to change our minds, we are all human beings. The important part is to make choices that we feel comfortable in and not choices that someone else is making for us.Invest the time to find out what makes you happy, write down what you enjoy, and "connect the dots" in your life. About Cynthia: Cynthia Willis, M.Ed., CCC-SLP has earned the highest credentials needed to practice speech-language pathology in private practice. Cynthia Willis has earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), of which she is a member. Ms. Willis holds a license from North Carolina State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. She completed her first year of undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College a City University of New York (CUNY); transferred to Fayetteville State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in "Speech and Theater" and minored in "Sociology" (studied multiculturalism and sub-cultures).
